On April 13, 2018, at the invitation of the Legal Department of Ping An Group, Bo Xiao, the Executive Director of our firm, gave a lecture to the staff of the Legal Department of Ping An Group on the topic of “Criminal Protection and Risk Prevention of Citizens' Personal Information”.

Combining his own experience and feelings from the court and the law firm, in the way of combining the case and the explanation, Bo Xiao gave a detailed and full explanation of the protection of citizens' personal information from the following five aspects: the situation of personal information security protection, the citizens’ personal information protected by criminal law, the infringement combated by criminal law, the criminal responsibility of units and senior executives, and the prevention of criminal legal risks. Talking about the criminal legal risk prevention of citizen's personal information, Bo Xiao started from the actual case and combined his own case handling experience to make suggestions from the following six perspectives:

u Further clarify the responsibilities and establish a strict customer information confidentiality mechanism;

u Strengthen the risk prevention in customer information secrecy;

u Establish an internal control assessment mechanism for customer information protection;

u Use technical means to limit the export of customer information;

u In cooperation with third parties, customer information must undergo strict data desensitization process;

u Prudent handling of incidents and complaints that have occurred.
