On the afternoon of April 3, 2018, the Shanghai High Court held the ceremony of the establishment of the Criminal Research Branch of the Shanghai Judicial Think Tank Association and the appointment ceremony of experts. Weiqing Guo, member of the Party Committee and Vice Dean of the Shanghai High Court, and Chairman of the Shanghai Judicial Think Tank Association, attended the ceremony and issued letters of appointment to the first batch of experts. The relevant persons in charge of the Shanghai Judicial Think Tank Association, the Deputy Dean and the Presiding Judge of the criminal trial line of the Shanghai court in total of 40 people attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Xin Zhang, the Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Judicial Think Tank Association, introduced the Shanghai Institute of Judicial Think Tanks and announced the name list of the first president, vice president and consultants of the Criminal Research Branch of the Shanghai Judicial Think Tank Association. The Criminal Research Branch specially invited Professor Youping Xie, the Director of our law firm and Professor Gaizhi Yu as the first consultants. Participants made suggestions on promoting the construction of think tanks and improving the credibility and influence of criminal justice.
